I chose the Z2 because I wanted to enhance the security of the sandal on my feet. I usually HATE things between my toes! Fortunately, Chacos are extremely adjustable, so I can make the loop comfortable, thus it doesn’t bother me!
These sandals have excellent arch support. My husband is very picky about his arch support due to having extremely low arches. He loves the support and I like the fit! It is healthy for my feet (according to podiatrists) and it doesn’t flop around like most sandals.
I love the fact that these sandals are environmentally friendly! The repair services that Chaco provides makes it so that a well-loved pair of sandals doesn’t get tossed into a landfill, but re-webbed or resoled for much more use! I actually bought both my pair of Chacos and my husband’s pair used. I had to get my husband’s shoes resoled immediately and he not only gets the benefits of them being broken-in/pliable, but a new sole with great traction! We love our chacos!
One thing odd about these shoes though, is the weird sizing. They run a little narrow and long. I usually wear a half or whole size bigger than I had to buy in Chacos. I was grateful that I had the opportunity to try a pair on before I ordered online. I recommend doing this if you can. If you can’t, order a half size smaller than you usually wear and possibly wider than usual too.

I love these shoes in theory. The sole bed is super comfortable but some of the straps are not adjustable and those loops were too big for me. I tried going down a size but then the foot bed is too small. Ugh - I really wanted to keep these shoes but had to send them back
Self adjustment issues - Matrix - Boulder, CO
Great footbed and very comfortable, stable shoe. Disappointed in the strapping system though. Mine are overly hard to adjust with the strap frequently getting stuck around the toe loop area. They also seem to self adjust over the course of a day in such a way that the toe loop is far too tight for my comfort. I like them enough to replace if I ever wear them out, but I’ll be going to the Z1 without the toe loop. If you don’t like not being able to move or curl your big toe avoid these; I thought I’d be able to adjust it loose enough and I can, but it won’t stay that way.
Chaco didn’t work for my foot - dasbus - Minneapolis, MN
I had hoped these would work, but they didn’t for my foot. The pattern on the foot bed rubbed on my foot too much. The arch reached too far forward on my foot. I felt like I had a bulge pushing against the bottom of the front part of my foot. Just didn’t work. I went back to my Teva Toachi (have closed and open toe types). These seem to fit my foot the best. I know they are a great sandal for most folks, but just not for me.

I have had these sandals for some time now and they are awesome! The unaweep technology allows for your own custom fit and the footbeds have wonderful support. I have worn these over all kinds of terrain and they haven’t failed me yet. I would definately recommend these to all active individuals.
